Washing capsules
Did you know that washing capsules can be lethal to children? With their swirling multi-colours, they can look very appealing and some young children have bitten into them, thinking they are sweets. However, they are highly poisonous and can cause serious problems if the detergent is swallowed. Please keep them safely out of reach. Watch this short video to find out more.

Action for Happiness
Action for Happiness works with schools, communities and individuals to promote a happier world, by trying to encourage kindness and encouragement. Happiness is not about ignoring difficult feelings, but, if we learn to understand and express positively our feelings about the challenges we face in life, we can help each other to find the support we need to lead happier lives.
Why not try to follow the ‘kindness calendar’ through December? This could be a great challenge to follow during the run-up to Christmas and the New Year.

Do you want to apply for free school meals?
Did you know that if your child qualifies for free school meals, you can get help with other areas of school life too? e.g. Children on free school meals may be eligible for additional support with breakfast club, uniform, activities and visits. You may also find that you can get additional help during holiday periods with food and with activities. Because of this, it is worth applying for free school meals, even if your child already has a Universal free meal because they are in Reception or Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2).
